5 Reasons why to add subtitles on your videos:

1. Subtitles increase engagement and comprehension.

People concentrate less and less in this modern day of 21st century. So it's difficult to conquer your audience's attention. Nonetheless, some quick studies suggest that there is a quick fix. It appears that people prefer to watch videos with subtitles. Even though the video is in their own language and they understand it completely. A lot of people still turn on closed captions. Apparently, it increases focus and helps them concentrate and understand your video much better. The combination of video and text is strong and appeals to more people than just only a video.

2. Not everyone can hear your audio.

Nearly 20% of people in the world live with complete hearing loss. And some portion of that 20% lives with restricted hearing. Can you imagine what a big number this is? This is a huge piece of the audience that you're not reaching if you fail to add subtitles to your video. That is just bad business. Make your videos inclusive to everyone. Add subtitles and have your message heard by everyone.

3. Not everyone has their sound on.

Studies show that 85% of Facebook videos are being watched with sound off. What does this say to you? A lot of people watch videos on social media when they are commuting to work, social events, and sometimes in waiting rooms. Where they have to remain on silent mode. Why lose all this audience. Create eye-catching stylish subtitles that will grab the audience's attention and make them engage with your video and hear what you want to say any place any time.

4. Subtitles increase your audience reach.

Instapage survey found that captioned videos on Facebook had a 16% higher reach than those without. They had 15% more shares, 17% better reactions, and 26% better call-to-action click-throughs. In short, all the metrics of natural videos were overpowered by the videos with subtitles. Having text on your video changes the way people engage with your videos and even when making converting decisions.

5. Subtitles Help With Your SEO.

Even though your main focus should be quality content, you just can't dismiss these little spiders that crawl the world wide web and index everything so it's accessible and easy to find. Many of the named parameters contribute to SEO. The more people stay on your website watching your video the better. Also if you add text subtitles to your video it will help these spiders read your video otherwise they can't as they only understand the text. Having your content quickly found on the internet is key to getting more traffic.

So, is subtitling your videos is worth of your time?
